Big Budget Boost for Redland Community Facilities!

The Council just approved a $118.3 million budget that includes a big chunk of change for our city's favorite community facilities and lifestyle spots. This means the Council can keep working on major projects, while also delivering services that make the Redlands a great place to live.

Breakdown of Redland City Council's New Budget!

The Redland City Council has unveiled its $444 million budget for the next year, focusing on keeping our money's worth in mind. Here's a quick look:

  • Total Investment: $444 million for Redland Coast projects and services.

  • Rates Increase: A small increase of 5.51% (around $1.49 per week) for most homeowners.

  • Budget Deficit: A minor budgeted shortfall of $1.47 million.

  • Community Investment: $118.3 million dedicated to improving community facilities and infrastructure.

  • Pensioner Support: Almost $3.3 million in total pensioner rebates, with individual rebates of $335 per year for full pensioners and $167.50 for part-pensioners.

Touchdown in Redland Showgrounds

The Queensland Touch Football Junior State Cup is coming to Redland Showgrounds tomorrow (July 4th), bringing together over 3,000 players from across the state.

So if you're a player, a supporter, or just love a good game, get ready for 3 action-packed days (July 4th - July 6th) of competition, with teams from Cairns to South Tweed battling it out on the field.

Heads Up, Queensland Kids

FairPlay voucher applications are now open! Up to 150,000 vouchers available for ALL eligible Queensland kids aged 5-17, and they're valid for a whole year! This means you can apply now for both winter and summer activities. Plus, there are 50,000 vouchers reserved for those who most need them.

Call for Donations

The "Lob a Choc" fundraiser is in full swing, but they need donations of colored hairspray and face paint for their Pink Weekend face-painting booth. You can find these at Kmart, Big W, or even The Reject Shop.

Simply drop off your donations at the clubhouse or give them to your team manager. The junior team with the MOST donations wins a pizza party!
