Community Discussion

Spotted in Cleveland...

“Time for a community sanity check - I was out running (shuffling) this morning and as I neared the The Anzac Centenary Memorial, located in Kinsail Court Park (on Shore Street, across the road from Redlands RSL) I noticed a lady walking a dog - the dog paused and had a leak on the statue of the digger, who is standing in the reverse arms position which signifies a soldiers deep respect for the fallen in Australia’s battles and wars.

I couldn’t believe what I was seeing so I challenged the lady and asked her why on earth did she think it was ok for her dog to desecrate the memory of “our fathers” who had fallen

Apparently the dog “wanted to wee”
. I suggested trees or a bus set a pole or anything but a memorial but the dog “couldn’t wait”

Needless to say “a vigorous discussion” then followed and she wished me a nice day!

I went and bought a bottle of water and washed the digger down later

Lest we forget" - Peter Marer
