Redlands City Council Successful Mosquito Control & Treatment Program

Heads up, Redland City! Mosquito season is in full swing, and those little buzzers mean business. Recent warm weather and rain have created perfect breeding conditions for the saltmarsh mosquito – Aedes vigilax, across suburbs all over the City, especially the Southern Moreton Bay Islands and southern suburbs.

But fear not! Council has already implemented a comprehensive year-round treatment program to mitigate the mosquito population since the 2023 began. The last aerial treatment was on Saturday, December 2, 2023.

Kudos to them for making Redland City a mozzie-free zone!

Bowls for a Cause: Redlands Coast Suicide Prevention Fundraiser

Join the community for an uplifting afternoon of barefoot bowls at the Redlands Coast Suicide Prevention Network Fundraising Event from 2:30 to 6:00pm this Sunday, December 10th.

It’ll be a family-friendly time featuring Suicide Redlands, Hope, Bereavement, Hear for Life, an exciting Xmas Raffle, and a chance to strike it lucky in the lucky draw! Simply make your way to Victoria Point Bowls and Recreation Club to enjoy the fun-filled afternoon for just $20.00 (includes snacks). The bar will be open, so you can grab your favorite drinks.

Family Fun Alert: Redland City Council's Festive Wonderland

Gather your crew for a festive bash at Christmas by Starlight on Redlands Coast because Redland City Council is transforming Norm Price Park (Redland Showgrounds, Cleveland) into a holiday wonderland on Saturday, December 16th, from 3 pm to 8:30 pm.

There'll be carols, free kids' fun, entertainment, rides, food trucks, stalls, and a dazzling fireworks show to cap off the night! Get free parking, or catch the free train from Park Road to Cleveland, with a shuttle bus to the event. Let's make it a magical night.
