Chantelle Court Park's playground in Capalaba was tragically destroyed by fire around 3 pm on Friday and the estimated cost to replace the damaged equipment is $52,300.

Vandalism disrupts community use and comes at a significant cost. Let's keep our community spaces safe by reporting incidents to the police, and notifying Council at 3829 8999 for swift action.

"I want to pop a bit of good news here for your Sunday evening! Greg, the homeless guy that was a big topic of conversation a few weeks ago, has been offered a roof over his head, and has shifted today. There have been soooo many people either helping or wanting to help him in the past several weeks, it's been utterly unbelievable. And to the person who offered him the place to stay, which I think will be ideal for him, you've done a good thing. Everyone who's been invested in seeing him get a roof over his head, who's really gotten to like him & his animals, is so grateful for what you're doing.

The community has been amazing in rallying around Greg. He was the seed that planted Redlands Helping Hands, which was created to help those who need a bit of a leg up. Its sole focus is to be a 'community noticeboard,' if you will, for people who need a bit of help, and for people willing to lend a helping hand. If you think you'd like to help out, or if you think you might need a bit of a hand, please have a look." - Elizabeth Meffen
