New Redlands Safety Plan Targets Crime Fears

More than 60% of Redlands residents say they feel less safe than three years ago. Redland City Council will vote on the Redlands Coast Community Safety Action Plan 2026-2028 next week (around May 20). The plan tackles actual crime and perception through community partnerships, education, better public space design, and engagement. Read More →

Council Quarterly Performance Report Due Next Week

Redland City Council will present its quarterly Operational Plan Performance Report showing most major projects and strategic initiatives are progressing as of March 31. Federal Funding Secured for Eco Precinct Public Art

The Albanese Labor Government announced funding on May 6 for a new public art project at the Redlands Coast Eco Precinct. Part of a broader SEQ public art initiative, the project will add artwork reflecting local identity to public spaces across South East Queensland. Read More →

Historic Expo 88 Tower Removed from Toondah Harbour

SeaLink South East Queensland removed the iconic Expo 88 tower from Cleveland's Toondah Harbour in May, ending more than 30 years as a local landmark for ferry passengers heading to North Stradbroke Island. The structure had reached end of life as the harbour area is being redeveloped ahead of the Brisbane 2032 Olympics.

AdventureFest has been firing on all cylinders since Friday 15 May, turning the Redlands Coast into a giant playground. Highlights so far include the Straddie Salute Triathlon Festival on North Stradbroke Island, the Mountain Bike Rumble at Mount Cotton, the Redland Bay Harbour Park Fun Day, Heritage Artisan Faire workshops, and the MG Car Club Hill climb on Coochiemudlo Island.

• This week: AdventureFest STEAM Zone workshops, guided walks with Ranger Stacey on King Island, and the Explore King Island experience

• Saturday 23 May: Environment and Community Fair & Eco Markets, Colours of Coochiemudlo art event, and the Twilight Makers Market

• Sunday 24 May: PuppyPalooza at Bayview Blast, Family Adventure Day, and the Gallery and Museum Hop treasure hunt at NSIMM
