Capalaba Park Shopping Centre: A Journey Through Time!

Let's take a stroll down memory lane at Capalaba Park Shopping Centre – from its drive-in movie days to becoming the heart of our community.

Can you believe it all started in 1981 with Kmart and Coles New World? Now the center has undergone expansions, ownership changes, and even introduced innovative initiatives like the Park Points loyalty program in 2015.

Talk about being iconic!

Over the years, the centre has faced its challenges, celebrated milestones, and embraced growth. The community has witnessed significant transformations with the introduction of electric vehicle chargers in March 2023 and Coles becoming the sole supermarket in the area after Capalaba Central's closure in April 2023.

While Capalaba Park has had its ups and downs, it remains our beloved shopping destination. Let's continue supporting our favorite shopping spot and its future endeavors! đź‘Źđź›’

Wellington Point Resident Fined $12,000

A Wellington Point resident has been fined $12,000 for unlawfully damaging protected marine plants in the Moreton Bay area. The Geoff Skinner Wetlands Reserve, which is an integral part of the Moreton Bay Ramsar site, suffered damage to Coastal Swamp Oak and grey mangrove for the sake of improved water views.

This serves as a crucial reminder that all marine plants are protected under the Fisheries Act 1994 in Queensland.

Remember that marine plants play a vital role in sustaining our marine ecosystems and fish stocks for future generations.
