Redlands Satellite Hospital is making its grand entrance on August 28, 2023, with a $43.8 million makeover! Oh, and it's not just any hospital – the Palaszczuk Government added some flair by co-naming it Talwalpin Milbul, honoring First Nations peoples.

From Minor Injury and Illness Clinic to chemo chairs, medical imaging and diagnostic services, they've got it all covered. Get ready, Redlands Coast – your health is in for a treat! 💪🌡️.

Redlands Coast Goes Green with Solar Bins! 🌞💚

Redland City Council is on a mission to light up the city with eco-friendly brilliance. They've set aside a whopping $365,000 in the 2023-2024 community budget to take their successful solar bin trial and spread it across the entire Redlands Coast.

These smart bins mean fewer pickups and more savings, all part of the Council's commitment to a greener, cleaner city. And that's not all – a regional Material Recovery Facility partnership and hybrid vehicles are in the works. Plus, recycling and waste centers remain free for residents despite rising costs. Cheers to a brighter, eco-friendly future! 🌍🗑️

Parking Fine Shake-Up Alert! 🚗🚫

Big news from the Redland City Council meeting - a proposal to amp up car parking fines for various infractions has been voted down! 🚫💰

The Council had a lively discussion about potentially increasing fines from 1 penalty unit (currently $154.80) to 2 penalty units (currently $309.60). But guess what? The motion to increase fines didn't make the cut. Kudos to Councilors Mitchell & Huges for the fine vibes, and props to the squad that said 'No way!'

Whisky Business takes a wild turn! 🥃🤯 

Did you catch the crazy video of a customer flipping over a public holiday surcharge? 😱 Don't worry, everyone's safe and sound – but it seems the whisky wasn't the only thing on fire that day! Model train show is coming to town

Welcome aboard young and old (young at heart) to the Redlands Model Railway Show departing Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 August to held at the Assembly Hall, 44 Smith Street, Cleveland.

When: 26 August, 9am – 5pm, and 27 August, 9am – 4pm

Where: Assembly Hall, 44 Smith Street, Cleveland

Cost: Adults $10, Concession $5, Children $2. Under school age free. Family $20 (2 adults, 2 children). Includes entry to the Redland Museum on same day.
